We ran a Jobs to Be Done research project to identify the content & advertisment opportunities within the global sportsbetting market
The team began with these three industry hypothesise.
Major Markets: Popular Sports Enthusiasts
By targeting features and marketing towards enthusiasts of popular sports such as football (soccer), basketball, and horse racing, the startup aimed to address the interests and betting preferences of this large and engaged segment first.
Predominantly Male Users
By focusing on features and marketing strategies that appeal to male users, the startup believed it would maximize its chances of success, based on preliminary customer interviews and existing market data.
Primary Age Group: 25-35 Years Old
By tailoring the researches features and marketing towards individuals in their mid-20s to mid-30s, the team believed they would be reaching the tech-savvy and financially active demographic that is most likely to engage in sports betting.
So what did we do and what did we find?
Our Approach
- We ran a short JTBD kickoff meeting to review the key job stages, outcomes and demographic questions.
- Fielded our jobs to be done survey to ~50 potential customers in Mexico to gather an initial sample of data.
